High Impact Manager Accelerator Program

Your business grows when your people do.

Most managers were promoted for being great at the work — not for being trained to lead it. HI-MAP builds the concrete and soft skills your managers need to lead with confidence.

The growth-phase problem

Unlock stronger leadership with focused skill development.

Successful leaders know that next-level growth requires high-performing teams. Yet you also know this: the growth phase is tough. The people who got you here were promoted for being your best doers — and leading is a different job than doing, one most were never taught.

HI-MAP equips leaders at every level of your organization — from first-time supervisors to seasoned managers, and executives sharpening the same muscles — with the concrete and soft skills they need to lead confidently, delivered in focused pieces with real accountability between sessions.

And it's not just more skills: participants learn which muscle to flex in which moment — the judgment to read a situation and reach for the right approach, rather than a one-size-fits-all playbook.

What makes HI-MAP work

DISC + Driving Forces firstEveryone starts with their own assessment, so training is tailored to how each person actually learns and leads.
Leadership coachingAn experienced coach brings clarity to the big picture, so every session translates into real change.
Expert facilitatorsHI-MAP–certified facilitators lead group sessions and 1:1 meetings, with you every step.
A cohort of non-competing peersManagers learn alongside leaders from other non-competing companies — no colleagues, no politics — so they open up and get far more from the coaching.

Attract and keep the best.

The numbers speak for themselves. You know how expensive employee churn is — but the right training strategy helps you retain top talent and build long-term loyalty. That gap is an opportunity: investing in your people gives you a real edge in a competitive labor market.

Real-world, not theory

No fluff. Just real-world training and impact.

HI-MAP implementors are leadership experts with boots-on-the-ground experience. This isn't a one-and-done seminar: managers practice each skill, apply it between sessions, and get coached on what actually happened — which is what makes the change hold. They use what they learn the same week they learn it.

The impact? HI-MAP results include:

  • Increased productivity and profits
  • Better retention
  • Improved company value
  • Higher-quality candidates in recruitment
  • Engaged employees taking initiative
  • Higher satisfaction rates
  • More innovative thinking
  • Reduced risk

The HI-MAP Formula: Four Skills-Development Paths

Our four Paths build the skills that drive business results — and managers develop across all four as a cohort, moving through the program together rather than learning alone.

Everyone starts the same way. Before any Path begins, each participant completes their own DISC + Driving Forces assessment and a session on behavioral styles — so every manager understands how they're wired and learns to read and flex to the people they lead. The skills that follow land faster and stick longer.

See it in action

Stronger management, felt across the whole business.

When Rayment & Collins — a nearly 50-person, family-owned marketing and print company — needed a more structured way to manage people and drive performance, technology & business development manager Kevin Collins turned to HI-MAP. The structured Paths fit the way his engineering brain worked, and he left every session with changes he could apply that same week.

Small shifts in how he ran meetings and coached his team produced immediate results — and when he used HI-MAP principles to develop an employee for a promotion, the clarity it created saved the business substantial time and money.

★★★★★

"Having HI-MAP's structured skill-development paths kind of fit the way my engineering brain worked. I left each session with actionable insights that I knew would drive change."

The investment

An investment in the leaders who'll run your business next.

Built as a real journey, priced around your people.

HI-MAP develops your manager across all four Paths as part of a cohort — a full journey, not a one-off seminar. You decide which of your people to invest in — the ones ready to grow into leaders.

We'll pin down your exact investment together on the intro call, once we know who you're developing and what they need. No pressure, and a clear picture before you decide anything.

And it's an accomplishment they keep. Managers who finish the program earn a HI-MAP certificate — recognition they can be proud of, and a clear signal to your team that you invest in the people ready to lead.

Questions

HI-MAP, answered

What is HI-MAP?
HI-MAP — the High Impact Manager Accelerator Program — is a manager and leadership training program from The Alternative Board Northwest Arkansas. It builds the concrete and soft skills managers need to lead confidently, delivered across four skill-development Paths: Improvement, Influence, Talent, and Team Action. Every participant begins with their own DISC and Driving Forces assessment.
Who is HI-MAP for?
Business owners and executives who want to sharpen their managers and supervisors — whether recently promoted and never formally trained to lead, or experienced managers ready for the next level. It's built for growing Northwest Arkansas businesses that know their people are the growth engine.
What are the four HI-MAP Paths?
The Improvement Path builds productivity, communication, and coaching. The Influence Path develops leadership presence, facilitation, negotiation, and culture. The Talent Path covers hiring, retention, developing teams, and handling conflict. The Team Action Path focuses on strategic leadership, strategic planning, KPIs, and execution. Together they make up the full HI-MAP development journey.
Does my manager earn a certificate?
Yes. Managers who complete the HI-MAP Management Development program earn a HI-MAP certificate — a real, nameable accomplishment they can be proud of, and a signal to your whole team that you invest in the people ready to lead. For the manager, it's recognition that someone believed in what they could become.
Do we have to complete all four Paths?
HI-MAP is designed as a full journey — four Paths across sixteen sessions — and the cohort moves through it together, because that's what makes the growth stick. There's no contract, though. It's built to be completed, but you're never locked in: with 30 days' notice you can pause or discontinue at any point.
What is the DISC and Driving Forces piece?
Before any training begins, every participant completes their own DISC and Driving Forces assessment and a session on behavioral styles. It gives each manager real insight into their own style — and, just as valuable, how to read and adapt to the people they lead. The team doesn't take the assessment; the manager learns to apply its insights with them. It's a core differentiator of HI-MAP, not an add-on.
Is HI-MAP in person or virtual?
Both. HI-MAP is modular and can be delivered in person or virtually to fit your team's schedule — in focused sessions over time rather than one overwhelming day.
Who's in the cohort with my manager?
Leaders from other non-competing companies — never colleagues from your own business. That's deliberate: people open up far more, and get far more from the coaching, when they're not sitting beside an internal rival for the next promotion. Your manager learns alongside people facing the same challenges, with no company politics and full candor.
How is this different from a one-day management seminar?
A one-day seminar is forgotten by Friday. HI-MAP is applied skill-building delivered in manageable pieces with real accountability between sessions, grounded in each manager's own behavioral profile. Managers practice, apply, and get coached — so the change actually holds.
How much does HI-MAP cost?
Your manager develops across all four Paths as part of a cohort (there's also a one-time DISC + Driving Forces assessment to begin). We'll set your exact investment on the intro call, once we know who you're developing — so you get a clear picture before you decide anything.
What kind of results can we expect?
You don't have to wait until the end to see change. One manager who used to be afraid to speak up in meetings had become one of the most confident leaders in the company only about a third of the way through the program — just a few months in. That's the power of HI-MAP: managers apply what they learn the same week, so results start showing up well before the program is complete.
How do we get started?
